1894-S VAM-1A Worm Eye Die Scratches/Gouges Obverse Discovered by Martin Field, February 1982, Revised 2016 - pacificwr 1A (revised) III2 1 - C3a (Worm Eye Die Scratches/Gouges Obverse) (186) Obverse III2 1 - Long vertical die gouge at eye front. Additional fine die scratches/gouges in wheat kernels and leaves, all four cotton leaves; Phrygian cap top, right side & bottom edge; cap ribbon; hair top, lower right and bottom; nostril; lips; ERT in LIBERTY; top of eyelid; top of forehead front and back of neck. Over 45 scratches/gouges--most on a Morgan dollar obverse die. Reverse C3a - Diagonal die scratch on 6 & 7 left lower tail feathers up into lower arrow feather.
