=1888-S VAM-12A S/S Upper Bar, Pitted Reverse Bow= Discovered by C. Logan McKechnie April 2006. Eliminated, same die as VAM-6B . 12A III2 1 · C3d (S/S Upper Bar, Pitted Reverse Bow) (?)'' Obverse III2 1 - Small die gouge in front of eye. Reverse C2d– Raised dots from rusted die on left side of wreath bow, leaves next to bow and in field between ED. image:1888-S_VAM-12A_Pitted_Bow.jpg The pitting on VAM-12A is very similiar to 1888-S VAM-1B. However, VAM-12 has a bar in the mintmark and light pitting not only between ED but also around the left star. 308px 352px The light pitting between ED is easily confused with the early die state of 1888-S VAM-1B: 421px
