'''Reverse C3b'''- S mint mark strongly doubled with original showing as vertical spike to left, a thin diagonal line to left of upper loop, a curved line on right inside of lower loop, and a thin line on right inside of upper loop. The 1885-S/S is under appreciated for its rarity, but the [[1885-O VAM-9 with a repunched date in the denticles is almost unknown. It is a truly rare coin and seldom encountered.
