Description
This is an impression in platinum from the hubs of the Hawaiian half dollar, made about 1900. Heritage describes pieces made around 1900 by an unknown die sinker in several metals after the 1883 Hawaiian coinage, apparently from Barber's original 1883 hubs. PCGS calls them fantasy strikes or hub impressions and dates them about 1900; some show one side only, and PCGS records some of them under the date 1884, which no coin of the Kingdom carries. They were not made by or for the Hawaiian government. PCGS number 510969.
