This dollar piece, dated 1871, is BG-1329 in the Breen-Gillio catalogue, in the BG-1300 group of later pieces that follows the genuine California fractional gold. The BG-1300 numbers follow the genuine Period One and Period Two pieces in Breen-Gillio and include copies, restrikes and imitations made after the period (Locke 2013). No source read describes BG-1329 individually; the BG-1300 numbers that sources do describe are later copies and restrikes (Locke 2013). The PCGS title gives the date in quotation marks, "1871". Catalogue number: BG-1329 (Breen-Gillio). PCGS number 516803.
