The 1868 Proof Half Dime Pattern - J-637 is a proof half dime pattern struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Reconstruction Era Patterns (1866-1869) series. It was struck from the regular 1868 half dime dies. It has the low date and a plain edge; one or two are believed to exist, perhaps struck on cent planchets for collectors or by mistake. It is struck in copper with a plain edge. USPatterns.com rates it R-7. It is also catalogued as Pollock-709 and Adams-Woodin 672. Cataloged as PCGS #60855.
