Description
TDC-1c-1868-01 This 1868 nickel 3 cent piece shows both obverse and reverse die clashes. The overlay provided shows the relative position when the dies did clash. The picture above shows the upper leaves of the wreath on the reverse clashed into the date and the U of UNITED. More clash marks from the reverse leaves are seen through the word AMERICA. The top of Liberty’s cap ( Pileus) is seen above the last Roman numeral.
