The 1867 Proof Dime Pattern - J-588 is a proof dime pattern struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Reconstruction Era Patterns (1866-1869) series. It was struck from the regular 1867 Seated Liberty dime dies, so its design matches the regular coin; only the metal differs. Judd lists it in nickel with a reeded edge, and USPatterns.com rates it R-8. Judd classes it as a die trial, a strike from regular dies in a metal other than the coin's own.
