Description

The 1835 Capped Bust Half Dime - Large Date, Large 5C is a dime produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the Capped Bust Half Dimes 1829-1837 series. Total mintage reached 2.8 million. The obverse features Liberty facing left wearing a mob cap or turban, while the reverse displays a heraldic eagle with shield on breast, olive branch and arrows in talons, with a banner reading E PLURIBUS UNUM. Designed by William Kneass. Struck in 89.2% silver, 10.8% copper, weighing 1.35 grams, 15.9 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #4282.
