Description
CU-1C-1800-01R documents a reverse die failure on an 1800 Draped Bust Cent. Robert Scot's Draped Bust design, featuring Liberty with flowing hair and a draped bust on the obverse paired with a wreath reverse, was the standard cent motif from 1796 through 1807. The reverse die fractured at the rim, and the broken fragment separated to create the characteristic raised featureless blob where the wreath design should have appeared. Cataloged by Cuds on Coins for the Draped Bust Cents 1796-1807 series.
