Description

The 1794 Flowing Hair Half Dime is part of the Flowing Hair Half Dimes 1794-1795 series. With a mintage of just 7,756, this is a rare issue sought by specialists. The obverse features Liberty facing right with flowing hair, surrounded by stars, while the reverse displays a small, naturalistic eagle perched on a palm branch within a wreath. Designed by Robert Scot. Weighing 1.35 grams, 16.5 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #4250. The Flowing Hair Half Dime was among the first coins struck by the U.S. Early American numismatic treasures. The 1794 and 1795 are the only regular-issue dates. All examples are scarce and historically significant.
