Description
The 1790 Baltimore Three Pence - Standish Barry is filed under Baltimore Silver Coins in the Post-1776 Private and Regional Issues (1778-1820) series. Crosby describes a small silver threepence of Baltimore, apparently a private issue of Standish Barry, with a head facing left and the legend BALTIMORE TOWN JULY 4 90, and on the reverse THREE PENCE inside a circle with STANDISH BARRY in a beaded network. He knew nothing of its history and could only guess that the precise date marked a celebration of independence. PCGS lists it as #609.
