Description

A 1787 New Jersey copper featuring the initials "WM" (for Walter Mould, one of the authorized coiners) above the plow on the obverse. The WM initials serve as a mintmark identifying the manufacturer. Mould was one of three partners granted the coinage contract by the New Jersey legislature.
