Description

The Lord Baltimore Penny, or Denarium, is the rarest denomination in the Maryland colonial series with only 7-9 specimens known. Unlike the three silver denominations which share the Baltimore arms reverse, the Penny has a unique reverse design depicting two flags rising from a crown. Struck in copper as a pattern coin, it was intended for circulation but may never have been widely distributed.

Rarity Notes

Only 7-9 specimens known. High R.7. Extremely rare copper pattern denomination.
