Description

The Large Portholes variety of the Sommer Islands sixpence is identified by the larger, more prominent portholes along the hull of the ship on the reverse. While still extremely rare, it is the more obtainable of the two sixpence varieties. The obverse carries the same design: the hog within the "SOMMER ILANDS" legend with the Roman numeral "VI" denomination above.

Rarity Notes

R.6 (13-30 known). Approximately 40 total sixpences known between both varieties, with Large Portholes the more common.
