The Standing Liberty Quarter from the Best of the Mint 2026 series recreates Hermon Atkins MacNeil's 1916 quarter design in gold. MacNeil's design features Liberty standing in a gateway between two walls, holding an olive branch and a shield, symbolizing America's readiness to defend liberty while preferring peace. The reverse depicts an eagle in flight surrounded by 13 stars. The 2026 gold coin was struck at the West Point Mint, without a mint mark, and carries the original date, 1916, with a Liberty Bell privy mark numbered 250.
