About This Coin
The 1907 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle (Best of the Mint 2026) is a United States Gold Double Eagle from the Best of the Mint 2026 series — the second year of the series. In 1907, coins were struck at the West Point Mint. The obverse features Liberty striding forward holding a torch and olive branch, with rays of sunlight behind her — widely considered the most beautiful U.S. coin design and the reverse displays a flying eagle with the rising sun behind it. First year includes extremely rare Ultra High Relief (originally "Extremely High Relief") versions requiring multiple strikes, plus Wire Rim and Rolled Rim varieties. Weighing 31.103 grams. Designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens.
