Description
A New Haven restrike struck from original Fugio reverse hub impression FF on a planchet made from a 1798 large cent. This uniface piece shows only the reverse design (13 chain links and "We Are One" legend) as it was struck from a single die. New Haven restrikes were produced circa 1858-1860s by collectors and dealers using original or copy dies recovered from the defunct New Haven mint.
Rarity Notes
Very rare. Overstruck on a dated host coin, making it particularly desirable for its provenance.
