The Alaska Rural Rehabilitation Corporation issued aluminum tokens in 1935 for the Matanuska Valley Colony, a New Deal resettlement project relocating Midwest farming families to Alaska. Denominated from one cent to ten dollars, these tokens served as scrip redeemable at the colony store.
