The U.S. Mint produced 86,195 examples, making this ranked 0th of 16 mint variants by mintage, with 1% of production. The obverse features the Statue of Liberty with a geared background representing innovation and the reverse displays rotating designs honoring innovations and innovators from each state and territory. This coin honors Nathanael Herreshoff, the Bristol-based naval architect whose innovative yacht designs dominated America's Cup racing and advanced yacht engineering in the early 1900s.
