About This Coin
The 2022 National Purple Heart Hall of Honor Commemorative Dollar is a United States dollar from the Modern Commemorative Dollars (1982-Date) series. In 2022, the West Point Mint struck 92,650 of these dollars, uncirculated and proof together, by the Mint's figures. The obverse shows the Purple Heart medal with five stars and the reverse a World War I nurse bandaging a soldier on a stretcher. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry. Struck in 99.9% silver, weighing 26.73 grams, 38.1 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Designed by Heidi Wastweet.
