Description
The 2021 (CC) Morgan Dollar 100th Anniversary Dollar, struck at the Carson City Mint, is part of the 1921 Silver Dollar Anniversary Coins (2021 to Date) collection. With a mintage of 173,781, this is an extremely rare issue — the lowest mintage among 5 mint variants, representing only 20% of total production. The obverse features Liberty facing left wearing a Phrygian cap adorned with wheat and cotton, encircled by stars and the reverse displays an eagle with outstretched wings clutching an olive branch and arrows, surrounded by a wreath. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry. Coined at the Carson City Mint in Nevada, which operated for just 23 years (1870–1893) and produced coins now prized for their scarcity and Western provenance. S. numismatics. Auction record: $2,599 MS70 09-07-2022 eBay. Struck in 99.9% silver, weighing 26.69 grams, 38.1 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #877709.
