The 2020 (P) Burnished Weir Farm National Park 5 oz Silver Quarter is a special strike quarter struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the 5 oz. America the Beautiful Silver Quarters 2010 to Date series. The obverse features George Washington facing left, based on a 1786 bust by Jean-Antoine Houdon and the reverse displays unique designs featuring national parks and sites — struck in 5 ounces of .999 fine silver at a massive 76.2mm diameter. The reverse depicts an artist painting en plein air outside Julian Alden Weir's studio. Weir Farm is the only national park dedicated to American painting, preserving the studios where artists have found inspiration for over 130 years. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry.
