Description

The 2019 (W) Frank Church River of No Return National Park Quarter is a quarter produced at the West Point Mint as part of the America the Beautiful Quarters 2010-2021 series. The U.S. Mint produced 2 million examples, making this the lowest mintage among 5 mint variants, representing only 20% of total production. The obverse features George Washington facing left, based on a 1786 bust by Jean-Antoine Houdon and the reverse displays unique designs featuring national parks and sites from each state and territory. The reverse depicts a pilot navigating a drift boat through rapids surrounded by towering rock formations and dense forest. The Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness is the largest contiguous wilderness area in the lower 48 states at 2.3 million acres. Lowell (MA), American Memorial (MP), War in the Pacific (GU), San Antonio Missions (TX), and Frank Church River of No Return (ID) were released. American Memorial Park (Northern Mariana Islands) honored WWII Pacific Theater veterans. Struck at the West Point Mint, originally a bullion depository that became a full coin production facility, specializing in commemorative and bullion issues. Estimated market value ranges from $0 to $30 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 75% copper, 25% nickel over a pure copper center, weighing 5.67 grams, 24.3 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #718008.
