Description

The 2019 (D) American Memorial Park Quarter represents a Denver Mint issue from the America the Beautiful Quarters 2010-2021 series. The Denver Mint struck 182,600,000 American Memorial Park quarters dated 2019. The obverse features George Washington facing left, based on a 1786 bust by Jean-Antoine Houdon and the reverse displays unique designs featuring national parks and sites from each state and territory. The reverse shows a young Chamorro woman in traditional dress before the Flag Circle and Court of Honor, one hand on a plaque remembering those killed in the liberation of Saipan. Inscriptions: AMERICAN MEMORIAL PARK, N. MARIANA ISLANDS, 2019 and E PLURIBUS UNUM. Lowell (MA), American Memorial (MP), War in the Pacific (GU), San Antonio Missions (TX), and Frank Church River of No Return (ID) were released. American Memorial Park (Northern Mariana Islands) honors those who died in the Marianas Campaign of World War II. Coined at Denver's facility, which transitioned from processing Colorado gold rush metal to full-scale coin production in 1906. Estimated market value ranges from $0.25 to $1 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 75% copper, 25% nickel over a pure copper center, weighing 5.67 grams, 24.3 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #717056.
