Description

The 2019 (S) Proof Lowell National Park - Silver Quarter is a proof quarter struck at the San Francisco Mint, part of the America the Beautiful Quarters 2010-2021 series. The U.S. Mint produced 490,829 examples, making this the lowest mintage among 10 mint variants, representing only 4% of total production. The obverse features George Washington facing left, based on a 1786 bust by Jean-Antoine Houdon and the reverse displays unique designs featuring national parks and sites from each state and territory. The reverse depicts a mill girl working at a power loom with the Boott Mill clock tower visible through a window. Lowell preserves the history of America's Industrial Revolution and its first large-scale factory system. Lowell (MA), American Memorial (MP), War in the Pacific (GU), San Antonio Missions (TX), and Frank Church River of No Return (ID) were released. American Memorial Park (Northern Mariana Islands) honored WWII Pacific Theater veterans. As a proof issue, this coin was struck multiple times on specially prepared polished planchets using polished dies, producing mirror-like fields and frosted design elements prized by collectors. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, established during the California Gold Rush and now primarily producing proof and collector coins. Estimated market value ranges from $0 to $28 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 99.9% silver, weighing 6.3 grams, 24.3 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #705691.
