Description

The 2019 (S) Lowell National Historical Park Quarter was struck at the San Francisco Mint as a quarter in the America the Beautiful Quarters 2010-2021 series. The San Francisco Mint struck 924,503 uncirculated Lowell quarters dated 2019. The obverse features George Washington facing left, based on a 1786 bust by Jean-Antoine Houdon and the reverse displays unique designs featuring national parks and sites from each state and territory. The reverse depicts a mill girl working at a power loom with the Boott Mill clock tower visible through a window. Lowell preserves the history of America's Industrial Revolution and its first large-scale factory system. Lowell (MA), American Memorial (MP), War in the Pacific (GU), San Antonio Missions (TX), and Frank Church River of No Return (ID) were released. American Memorial Park (Northern Mariana Islands) honors those who died in the Marianas Campaign of World War II. The San Francisco Mint, a Gold Rush-era institution, now specializes in proof and collector coinage. Estimated market value ranges from $0.25 to $4 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 75% copper, 25% nickel over a pure copper center, weighing 5.67 grams, 24.3 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #699405.
