Description
The 2019 (P) American Innovation Dollar - New Jersey, Position B is a dollar produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the American Innovation Dollars 2018 to Date series. The obverse features the Statue of Liberty with a geared background representing innovation and the reverse displays rotating designs honoring innovations and innovators from each state and territory. This coin honors Thomas Edison and his Menlo Park research team's development of a practical incandescent light bulb that revolutionized daily life. The reverse features an Edison bulb with its long-lasting filament. First year of state-by-state releases honoring Delaware (classifying the stars — Annie Jump Cannon), Pennsylvania (polio vaccine — Jonas Salk), New Jersey (the light bulb — Thomas Edison), and Georgia (the Trustees' Garden, America's first agricultural experimental garden). Struck at the original U.S. Mint facility, in continuous operation since 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $1 to $7 depending on grade and condition.
