Description
The 2019 (D) American Innovation Dollar - Georgia, Position B is a dollar produced at the Denver Mint as part of the American Innovation Dollars 2018 to Date series. The obverse features the Statue of Liberty with a geared background representing innovation and the reverse displays rotating designs honoring innovations and innovators from each state and territory. This coin commemorates the 1733 Trustees' Garden in Savannah — one of America's first agricultural experimental gardens, which tested crops including orange trees, sassafras, grapes, and peach trees for colonial viability. First year of state-by-state releases honoring Delaware (classifying the stars — Annie Jump Cannon), Pennsylvania (polio vaccine — Jonas Salk), New Jersey (the light bulb — Thomas Edison), and Georgia (the Trustees' Garden, America's first agricultural experimental garden). Struck at the Denver Mint, established in 1906 from an earlier assay office that processed Colorado gold rush metal. Estimated market value ranges from $1 to $7 depending on grade and condition.
