Description
The 2019 (P) American Innovation Dollar - Delaware, Position B is a dollar produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the American Innovation Dollars 2018 to Date series. The obverse features the Statue of Liberty with a geared background representing innovation and the reverse displays rotating designs honoring innovations and innovators from each state and territory. This coin honors astronomer Annie Jump Cannon, whose invention of a stellar classification system still used today cataloged nearly 350,000 stars and transformed astrophysics. First year of state-by-state releases honoring Delaware (classifying the stars — Annie Jump Cannon), Pennsylvania (polio vaccine — Jonas Salk), New Jersey (the light bulb — Thomas Edison), and Georgia (the Trustees' Garden, America's first agricultural experimental garden). Struck at the original U.S. Mint facility, in continuous operation since 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $1 to $7 depending on grade and condition.
