Description
The 2018 (W) Proof American Eagle One Hundred Dollar Platinum - Life is a proof platinum coin struck at the West Point Mint, part of the American Eagle One Hundred Dollar Platinum 1997 to Date series. The obverse features Lady Liberty showing a child how to sow seeds, with the handwritten word Life from the Declaration of Independence, and the reverse displays an eagle in flight with an olive branch in its talons. As a proof issue, this coin was struck multiple times on specially prepared polished planchets using polished dies, producing mirror-like fields and frosted design elements. Struck at the West Point Mint, originally a bullion depository that became a full coin production facility, specializing in commemorative and bullion issues. Struck in 99.95% platinum, weighing 31.12 grams, 32.7 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #668341.
