About This Coin

The 2018 American Eagle One Hundred Dollar Platinum is a United States platinum coin from the American Eagle One Hundred Dollar Platinum 1997 to Date series. In 2018 the Mint sold 30,000 bullion coins struck at West Point; sales of the proof struck at West Point are not final. The bullion coin shows the Statue of Liberty and an eagle soaring over the sunrise; the proof has Lady Liberty showing a child how to sow seeds, with the handwritten word Life from the Declaration of Independence on the obverse and an eagle in flight with an olive branch in its talons on the reverse. Struck in 99.95% platinum, 32.7 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Designed by John M. Mercanti and Thomas D. Rogers Sr. (bullion), with the proof by Justin Kunz (obverse) and Patricia Lucas-Morris (reverse).
