Description
The 2016 (P) Proof 100th Anniv. The Philadelphia Mint struck 77,319 proof National Park Service 100th Anniversary dollars dated 2016. Nat'l Parks Dollar is a proof dollar struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Modern Commemorative Dollars (1982-Date) series. The obverse shows Old Faithful and the reverse the Park Service emblem with the words Heritage, Culture and Pride. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry. As a proof issue, this coin was struck multiple times on specially prepared polished planchets using polished dies, producing mirror-like fields and frosted design elements. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 26.73 grams, 38.1 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #595481.
