2015 (P) Roosevelt Dime - SKH-10c-2015P-01 Spiked Head

Description

Opening the 2015 Philadelphia Mint Roosevelt Dime spiked head catalog, this inaugural entry was documented by Cuds on Coins on February 13, 2016 — within approximately one year of the coin's production, reflecting the growing attention die variety researchers were directing toward the Roosevelt Dime denomination by the mid-2010s. The 2015-P dime was struck during a year when the Philadelphia Mint continued its standard dime production alongside the America the Beautiful Quarters program and other denominations, maintaining high-speed coining operations. On this die a crack ran from the rim into Roosevelt's bust, and the metal filling it created a raised spike on Roosevelt's portrait. A single documented entry for 2015-P places this date in the majority category of Roosevelt Dime years that carry single-digit spiked head counts. Cataloged by Cuds on Coins, SKH-10c-2015P-01 provides baseline documentation for any future discoveries on the 2015-P date, ensuring that the spiked heads of each production year are recorded for the reference community.
