Description
The 2014 (D) Presidential Dollar - Calvin Coolidge, Position A is a dollar produced at the Denver Mint as part of the Presidential Dollars 2007 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 3.8 million examples, making this the lowest mintage among 16 mint variants, representing only 5% of total production. The obverse features rotating portraits of each U.S. president in order of service, released four per year and the reverse displays the Statue of Liberty. The thirtieth President (1923–1929), Calvin Coolidge was known as "Silent Cal" for his reserved demeanor and belief in small government and fiscal restraint. He presided over the prosperous "Roaring Twenties" and was famously sworn in by his own father by kerosene lamplight in rural Vermont. Harding, Coolidge, Hoover, and Franklin D. Roosevelt were released. The FDR dollar is particularly collected alongside the Roosevelt Dime for a complete Roosevelt numismatic set. Struck at the Denver Mint, established in 1906 from an earlier assay office that processed Colorado gold rush metal. Estimated market value ranges from $1 to $10 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 77% copper, 12% zinc, 1% other over a pure copper core, weighing 8.1 grams, 26.5 mm in diameter, with a lettered edge. Cataloged as PCGS #526295.
