The Philadelphia Mint struck 112,833 proof Medal of Honor dollars dated 2011. The obverse shows the Army, Navy and Air Force Medals of Honor and the reverse a soldier carrying a wounded comrade. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry. As a proof issue, this coin was struck multiple times on specially prepared polished planchets using polished dies, producing mirror-like fields and frosted design elements. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 26.73 grams, 38.1 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #507290.
