The 2010 (D) Satin Finish Lincoln Shield Cent is a special strike cent struck at the Denver Mint, part of the Lincoln Shield Cents 2010 to Date series. The Denver Mint struck 583,897 satin finish cents dated 2010. The obverse features Abraham Lincoln facing right and the reverse displays a Union shield with a scroll banner reading ONE CENT, symbolizing Lincoln's preservation of the Union. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry. Struck at the Denver Mint, established in 1906 from an earlier assay office that processed Colorado gold rush metal.
