Description

Sharing the identical CU-100c-2007P-01R catalog number with its Position A counterpart, this cud error appears on the 2007 Philadelphia Mint Presidential Dollar honoring James Madison with Position B edge lettering. Presidential dollars were struck with edge lettering applied in a separate operation, and the two possible orientations, Position A and Position B, distinguish otherwise identical coins. The cud itself is a major die break at the rim where a die fragment fractured away, leaving a raised featureless area on the coin's edge.
