Description
The 2004 (P) Roosevelt Dime was struck at the Philadelphia Mint as a dime in the Roosevelt Dimes Clad and Silver Proof 1965 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 1.3 billion examples, making this the higher-mintage of the two mint variants, representing 53% of production. The obverse features Franklin D. Roosevelt facing left, honoring the president who championed the March of Dimes and the reverse displays a torch flanked by olive and oak branches, symbolizing liberty, peace, and strength. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry. Philadelphia's mint — the nation's first — has produced coins without interruption since its founding in 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $0 to $3 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 75% copper, 25% nickel over a pure copper center, weighing 2.27 grams, 17.9 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #5209.
