Description
Part of the Modern Commemorative Dollars (1982-Date) series, the 2003 (P) First Flight Dollar is a dollar from the Philadelphia Mint. The Philadelphia Mint struck 53,533 uncirculated First Flight Centennial dollars dated 2003. The obverse shows Orville and Wilbur Wright and the reverse the 1903 Flyer over the dunes at Kill Devil Hill. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 26.73 grams, 38.1 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #21002.
