Description
The 1999 (S) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Proof Close AM FS-901 is a proof cent struck at the San Francisco Mint, part of the Lincoln Memorial Cents 1959-2008 series. The obverse features Abraham Lincoln facing right and the reverse displays the Lincoln Memorial building in Washington, D.C.. Wide AM reverse variety exists alongside the standard Close AM, distinguishing this date. As a proof issue, this coin was struck multiple times on specially prepared polished planchets using polished dies, producing mirror-like fields and frosted design elements prized by collectors. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, established during the California Gold Rush and now primarily producing proof and collector coins. Estimated market value is approximately $100. Struck in copper-plated zinc, weighing 2.5 grams, 19 mm in diameter, with a plain edge. Cataloged as PCGS #38222.
