1999 (P) Georgia State Quarter - CU-25c-1999P-01(GA) Rim Cud

Cataloged by Cuds on Coins with no known cross-reference number (documented 01/30/2023), CU-25c-1999P-01(GA) is a rim cud discovered on the 1999 Philadelphia Georgia State Quarter. A supplementary note identifies a reverse die crack indicated by a "white arrow" annotation in the reference images. A rim cud represents the loss of part of the die's rim gutter, which appears as a raised interruption in the design rim, tracking the rim's course, on every coin struck thereafter. The Georgia State Quarter was the fourth issue in the 50 State Quarters Program (1999-2008), designed by T. James Ferrell, featuring a peach, the state outline, a banner reading "Wisdom, Justice, Moderation," and live oak sprigs on the reverse. The 1999-P Georgia quarter was struck at the Philadelphia Mint in copper-nickel clad composition (5.670 grams, 24.26 mm diameter).
