Description
The 1998 (S) Proof Crispus Attucks Dollar is a proof dollar struck at the San Francisco Mint, part of the Modern Commemorative Dollars (1982-Date) series. The San Francisco Mint struck 75,070 proof Black Revolutionary War Patriots dollars dated 1998. The obverse shows Crispus Attucks and the reverse a design for a Black Revolutionary War Patriots memorial. As a proof issue, this coin was struck multiple times on specially prepared polished planchets using polished dies, producing mirror-like fields and frosted design elements. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, established during the California Gold Rush and now primarily producing proof and collector coins. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 26.73 grams, 38.1 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #9770.
