Description
The 1996 (P) Proof Atlanta Centennial Olympic Games Tennis Dollar is a proof cent struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Modern Commemorative Dollars (1982-Date) series. The Philadelphia Mint struck 93,880 proof Atlanta Olympic Tennis dollars dated 1996. The obverse shows a tennis player and the reverse the torch logo of the Atlanta organizing committee, shared by the four 1996 Olympic dollars. As a proof issue, this coin was struck multiple times on specially prepared polished planchets using polished dies, producing mirror-like fields and frosted design elements. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 26.73 grams, 38.1 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #9725.
