Description
The 1994 (W) U.S. Prisoner of War Commemorative Dollar was struck at the West Point Mint as a dollar in the Modern Commemorative Dollars (1982-Date) series. The West Point Mint struck 54,893 uncirculated United States Prisoner of War Museum dollars dated 1994. The obverse shows an eagle breaking out of a ring of barbed wire and the reverse the planned National Prisoner of War Museum. Coined at the West Point Mint, which transitioned from bullion depository to a dedicated production facility for commemorative and investment-grade coins. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 26.73 grams, 38.1 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #9690.
