Description

A standard-issue copper-nickel clad Washington quarter, this 1986 quarter was produced at the Philadelphia Mint, bearing the "P" mintmark introduced in 1980. The obverse features John Flanagan's portrait of George Washington based on Jean-Antoine Houdon's 1786 bust, surrounded by "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the date. The reverse depicts a heraldic eagle with outstretched wings clutching arrows and an olive branch, with "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and "QUARTER DOLLAR."
