The 1984 (P) Olympic Dollar is a dollar produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the Modern Commemorative Dollars (1982-Date) series. The U.S. Mint produced 217,954 examples, making this ranked 3rd of 4 mint variants by mintage, with 10% of production. The obverse features designs varying by commemorative issue, authorized by Congress to honor significant American events, people, and institutions and the reverse displays designs varying by commemorative issue. Struck after the transition from silver to clad coinage, as the Mint adapted to modern production methods and record-breaking mintages.
