Description
The 1984 (D) Olympic Dollar was struck at the Denver Mint as a dollar in the Modern Commemorative Dollars (1982-Date) series. The Denver Mint struck 116,675 uncirculated Los Angeles Olympiad dollars dated 1984. The obverse shows the headless bronze athletes over the Olympic Gateway of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and the reverse a standing eagle. Coined at Denver's facility, which transitioned from processing Colorado gold rush metal to full-scale coin production in 1906. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 26.73 grams, 38.1 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #9610.
