Description
This 1976 gold medal at 33mm diameter is the larger format gold version of the American Revolution Bicentennial commemorative. At 33mm — approximately the diameter of a half dollar — this medal provides a more substantial canvas for the Bicentennial design while maintaining the prestige of gold composition. The larger format contains more gold than the 22mm version (PCGS #417392), making it the premium collectible in the Bicentennial medal series. Gold Bicentennial medals were produced for collectors who wanted a lasting precious metal memento of the nation's 200th birthday celebration. The 1976 Bicentennial generated an enormous variety of commemorative products, but official gold medals represent the highest tier, combining artistic merit, precious metal value, and historical significance.
