Description
The 1952 Franklin Half Dollar is a half dollar produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the Franklin Half Dollars 1948-1963 series. The U.S. Mint produced 21.2 million examples, making this ranked 2nd of 3 mint variants by mintage, with 41% of production. The obverse features Benjamin Franklin facing right and the reverse displays the Liberty Bell. Three-mint production continued. The 1952-S is a common date but scarce with Full Bell Lines. Struck at the original U.S. Mint facility, in continuous operation since 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $37 to $92 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 90% silver, 10% copper, weighing 12.5 grams, 30 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #6661.
